New York - Though the Golden Globe Awards came and went this year without a televised ceremony due to the writer's strike, awards season is still in full swing. The National Board of Review of Motion Pictures Gala, held on Jan. 15 in New York, honored the best in film for 2007.

Awards went to George Clooney for Best Actor ("Michael Clayton"), Julie Christie for Best Actress ("Away From Her"), Amy Ryan (Best Supporting Actress, "Gone Baby Gone"), Ellen Page (Breakthrough Performance by an actress, "Juno"), Emile Hirsch (Breakthrough Performance by an actor, "Into The Wild").

The Affleck brothers both took home awards - Ben Affleck for Best Directorial Debut ("Gone Baby Gone") and Casey Affleck for Best Supporting Actor ("The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford").

"No Country For Old Men" took home three awards, two for Joel Coen and Ethan Coen for Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay and one for Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin and Tommy Lee Jones for Best Ensemble Cast.

Tim Burton won the award for Best Director for his musical adaptation of "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" while Michael Douglas, Robert Osborne and Roger Deakins were all given Career Achievement awards.

Milan - Two major fashion labels, at least for men, who show in Milan are almost condemned to sacrifice experimentation for consistency. They are Giorgio Armani and Calvin Klein.

But while this makes lots of sense to the 73-year-old Armani, it would appear to be something of an encumbrance to Italo Zucchelli, the creative director at Calvin, and a man three decades Giorgio's junior.

The collection Italo presented Tuesday in Milan was elegantly minimalist and strikingly inventive in terms of fabrics. The conundrum was that the collection looked rather like the previous three he's made for Calvin Klein.

Moreover, the consistency also made the Calvin signature collection look out of step with the whole workerist, authentic craftsman moment going on in Italian fashion right now.

There were some great clothes; excellent moto cross pants cut taught with snazzy diagonal seams and darts; natty taiga green zippered stretch tops; and "liquid" nylon single-breasted raincoats.

Best of all was the finale featuring bomber jackets composed of horizontal bands of grosgrain ribbon, or our favorite clean look of Milan - a white motorbike pant paired with a ravishingly well cut duster, made of camel hair treated to be ever so shiny.

"Luxurious and industrial," was Italo's response when we asked him how he defines his aesthetic. The collection was definitely both, but Zucchelli needs to stretch himself more. Though he's not short in self-confidence he may not realize he has more up his creative sleeve than even he knows.

Tam designs outfits for Mickey, Minnie

HONG KONG - Hong Kong Disneyland unveiled new Chinese New Year outfits for Mickey and Minnie Mouse created by designer Vivienne Tam on Monday as part of the park's efforts to boost its appeal to Chinese tourists after a dismal second year.

Disney's two iconic characters strutted their stuff down a red carpet — Mickey in a bright red Mao suit and Minnie in a cherry blossom red dress with a bouquet-like bottom.

Mao suits were named after late Chinese leader Mao Zedong, who frequently donned tight-collared outfits instead of Western-style dress shirt and tie.

Nine other models also displayed red and black dresses featuring Mickey Mouse patterns.

"I've liked Mickey Mouse since I was very little. They (Disney characters) gave me many happy moments during my childhood," Tam, a Hong Kong native, told reporters.

She said the outfits will be available at her stores in March or April.

Hong Kong Disneyland brought in Tam's star power to help attract more tourists from neighboring mainland China — which has emerged as the park's biggest market — amid disappointing results.

Apart from Mickey and Minnie's new wardrobe, the park itself has been decorated with red firecrackers, red Chinese-language scrolls bearing good luck messages and orange tangerines, according to Chinese New Year custom.

It will stage a dragon dance on Feb. 7, the first day of the Chinese New Year, and plans to add Chinese food items like fried turnip cake and coconut red bean pudding.

"Our mission is to be very connected with the local culture — with mainland China, Hong Kong," Hong Kong Disneyland Managing Director Bill Ernest said.

Ernest said Disney was still in talks with the Hong Kong government about expanding the park. The park has been frequently criticized as being too small and lacking the high-profile rides of its sister parks in Tokyo, Paris and the United States.

Hong Kong Disneyland, a joint venture between the Hong Kong government and The Walt Disney Co. that opened in September 2005, has come under fire for its poor performance.

It drew 5.2 million visitors in its first year of operation — 400,000 short of its target — and only more than 4 million in its second year.

PARK CITY, Utah (Hollywood Reporter) - The life of fashion designer Valentino is coming to the big screen in the documentary "Valentino: The Last Emperor."

Directed by Vanity Fair special correspondent Matt Tyrnauer, "Valentino" will chronicle the 45-year career of the Italian icon on the eve of his last haute couture show, set for Wednesday at the Rodin Museum in Paris. For his feature debut, Tyrnauer spent about two years shooting more than 250 hours of footage of the man and his entourage.

"We were let into the inner circle, but we had to stick it out for a long time -- practically move in -- to capture the truly great moments," Tyrnauer said. "Valentino is surrounded by a tight-knit family of friends and workers, but, eventually, their guard came down and they forgot there was a camera crew in the room."

The film will look beyond his work to explore Valentino's relationships, the way a maverick faces the end of a long career and the end of an era in fashion. It was inspired by Tyrnauer's Vanity Fair profile of the artist.

Shot in widescreen high-definition, the film is aiming for a May debut at Cannes.

A text may include dynamic variables: name, extension, duration, size, date, frame width and height of an original or produced file.

Simple text, contents of a text file or SRT file can be the source of a text watermark. When it is necessary to process a great number of files and add a text watermark to each of them, it is convenient to make a text file the source and assign its every next line to be a watermark for the next generated file.

When using a SRT file as the source, the text is displayed for the time period that is specified within the file. You can use either existing SRT files or made by your own ones to create custom subtitles.

Damn Small is a very versatile 50MB mini desktop oriented Linux distribution. DSL was originally developed as an experiment to see how many usable desktop applications can fit inside a 50MB live CD. It was at first just a personal tool/toy. But over time Damn Small Linux grew into a community project with hundreds of development hours put into refinements including a fully automated remote and local application installation system and a very versatile backup and restore system which may be used with any writable media including a hard drive, a floppy drive, or a USB device.

DSL has a nearly complete desktop, and many command line tools. All applications are chosen with the best balance of functionality, size and speed. Damn Small also has the ability to act as an SSH/FTP/HTTPD server right off of a live CD.
